Meet the Fellows: JR Renbarger

We’re excited to welcome JR to MDLF! JR is the Director of Strategy for Corporate Real Estate at IU Health and lives in Indianapolis.

About JR:

A native Hoosier, I grew up in Lapel, IN before making my way to Indiana University for my undergraduate degree. After a 3-year stint in marketing and sales at Herff Jones, Inc., I decided to pursue an MBA, full-time, at the Kelley School of Business at IU Bloomington. Since graduation, I have spent the last 6 years at IU Health where I have held several roles, most recently on our Corporate Real Estate team. My wife, Abby, is in Brand Management with Eli Lilly and we live in Indianapolis with our son, Jon Ryan. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Cold Spring School, an Innovation K-8 school in the IPS district, and as a member of the Penrod Society.

What's your vision for Indiana? How does this relate to your decision to join the program?

Born and raised here in Indiana, I have a tremendous amount of pride for our state. We often seem overlooked and undervalued when it comes to national and international contributions. The consequence of this reputation can lead to lost opportunities and talent migration. My vision is for Indiana to be a net importer of great talent and innovation; to continue to build an environment that motivates individuals and companies to seek out our state. With world-class learning institutions, innovative companies across multiple industries, and abundant natural resources, Indiana is poised to build upon a foundation of excellence. My goal as a Fellow is to learn more about the challenges getting in the way of that vision, and partner with leaders across the state to help tackle problems to lift Indiana on the national and worldwide stage.
