Mitch Daniels Leadership Foundation Fellowship Class VII Application Available
INDIANA - The Mitch Daniels Leadership Foundation (MDLF) is accepting applications to its seventh Fellowship Class until February 16, 2024. The Fellowship is a two-year program where Fellows participate in rigorous coursework studying the state of Indiana’s economy, education, health, and civil society, while pursuing a Capstone project that creates a positive impact in their communities and across the state.
MDLF launched the Fellowship in 2016 which is now the Foundation’s flagship program. Since its origin, this program continues to create a statewide network of change agents who are actively working to make Indiana the best place to build a future. In the first six Classes, 125 Fellows have participated representing 23 counties across the state.
Exceptional candidates are demonstrated leaders in their own communities and organizations, embrace a change-making and entrepreneurial spirit, and have a genuine, intellectual interest in the principles of individual liberty, personal responsibility, and the role of private enterprise.
Throughout the first year of the curriculum, Fellows convene monthly across Indiana and are given access to influential people, organizations, and thought leaders to learn from a variety of experts through lectures, exclusive case studies, and Socratic-style discussions. During the second year, Fellows meet quarterly and are connected with resources and people necessary to put their Capstone projects into action through the MDLF Smart Network. The two-year, curated program provides a unique experience to identify, promote, and apply critical thinking and action to opportunities that will accelerate the state's progress on key growth initiatives.
In a recent interview with the Indianapolis Business Journal, Mitch Daniels articulated his hope and aspirations for participants: “We want to enlarge [the fellows’] sense of what’s possible and, I hope, provoke them to think about the next round of changes, big changes that would make this a better state,” said Daniels. “And we want them to get to know each other. … Because there might come a time when they come together around some cause or issue or big reform that makes Indiana better.”
