Charles McKinney Jr.

Promotions Manager, Eli Lilly and Company

We’re excited to welcome Charles to MDLF! Charles is a promotions manager at Eli Lilly and Company and lives in Indianapolis.

About Charles:

My name is Charles McKinney Jr. and I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Professionally, I currently serve as a Promotions Manager for Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis. I work in Lilly Oncology, where I help to fulfill our purpose of helping people get better, feel better, and live better. I’m a proud Spartan, having obtained my undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Non-Profit Management from Manchester University. I’m a passionate ambassador for Indy who enjoys working in our community with amazing organizations like The Exchange at the Indianapolis Urban League and IndyHub.

When I am not working in the Indy community, I can be found spending time with my family finding new places to visit and new adventures to conquer. I have four beautiful children that keep us incredibly busy with sports, clubs, and various other activities. I am excited to join an impressive group of leaders in the MDLF and get to work driving positive and effective change in Indiana!

What's your vision for Indiana? How does this relate to your decision to join the program?

Our state, like the rest of the country, is in a pivotal time where having and nurturing innovative leadership will not only dictate our current progress but also our future growth. I envision an Indiana where creative leaders of different backgrounds and experiences work together to break down growth barriers in our communities. Our people are our most critical asset and it is imperative we create a society where all ideas and experiences are not only heard but encouraged and appreciated.

I joined the MDLF Fellowship to work with leaders who refuse to accept the status quo as good enough, constantly aim higher, and execute courageously. Our missions are aligned and I look forward to impacting change and progress.
