Lindsay Gramlich

AVP, Development, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

We’re excited to welcome Lindsay to MDLF! Lindsay works as the AVP of Development at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and lives in Indianapolis.

About Lindsay:

My name is Lindsay Gramlich and I currently serve as AVP of Development at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. I have worked at the Children’s Museum for almost 10 years, and have served in various Development department roles. My specialties include: annual fund, mid-tier giving, strategic planning, donor communications, donor stewardship, database management, nonprofit management, and public affairs. I received my undergraduate degree from DePauw University, and Masters in Public Affairs from Indiana University.

I have two wonderful kids, Fitz (3 years old) and Mia (1 year old), a great husband (Matt), and a spunky Labradoodble named George. Fitz and Mia keep us on our toes right now. As a family, we sincerely value time together, and time spent with friends. Last year, we made the move up to Carmel from Midtown Indy.

I am an avid runner, but before COVID, I was really into Orange Theory. I absolutely love to read and can get really lost in a book. And last, I love to explore new places, try new foods, and experience new cultures. I have been fortunate enough to travel to a lot of places around the world, and hope to continue doing so one day.

What's your vision for Indiana? How does this relate to your decision to join the program?

As with the Mitch Daniels Leadership Foundation’s mission, I refuse to accept the status quo as good enough, and want to constantly aim higher. I think this same principle applies to my vision for Indiana.

I work for one of the top three economic drivers in Indiana, and a place that receives accolades as the world's biggest and best children's museum. However, we still run into the issue of people outside of the Midwest knowing who we are. That being said, although Indianapolis is up and coming, I think there is a still a lot of work to be done for us to have a permanent place on a "must-see, must-visit, must-live" map.

In addition, all politics aside, we can all see that the world is in a state of turmoil, and now is the time to act. It is going to take great leaders, to understand differing values, and reunite the great divide. I think this is true not only on the national level, but in our communities, and that is where we can make an extraordinary impact.

I'm so excited to be part of this new wave of leaders, and to see what we can do!

What's your favorite quote?

“So be sure when you step, Step with care and great tact. And remember that life's A Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed) Kid, you'll move mountains.” ― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!
